Latest Grants in the Leadership of Thinking

12th September 2015

FETL is delighted to announce that Policy Connect and the Association of Colleges (AoC) have been awarded grants to lead research into FE and Skills.

Ayub Khan, FETL’s Interim Chief Executive, commented: “In this round we have selected projects that provide the strongest opportunity to contribute to a better way of knowing and talking about what the sector can do to lead thinking about its role and position.”

The Policy Connect research project “How innovation is led in further education and skills across the UK” will see the organisation launch a nationwide series of seminars on innovation across the sector and how this can help to overcome key current and future challenges, leading up to a policy-focused report.

The Association of Colleges research project, Leadership in a world of change”, will see the organisation work alongside the University of Oxford to investigate and explore the impact of the Government’s devolution and localism proposals on further education and skills.

The grants represent the latest strands in FETL’s work to build a body of knowledge within and for the sector, as Ayub Khan explains: “FETL was set up to facilitate and share the knowledge and thinking of professionals and leaders in the sector, so we are really pleased to be able to take this forward with Policy Connect and the Association of Colleges.”
